Next month’s highly anticipated Eagles vs. Warriors rematch won’t just be a must-see basketball game — it will also support a meaningful cause as Walnut Hills partners with Cincy Shoots for a Cure, a new community-driven nonprofit. Cincy Shoots for a Cure is a nonprofit organization founded in 2025 by John Blackwell with a mission to use high school and youth basketball in the Cincinnati, Northern Kentucky, and Indiana tri-state area to raise awareness, excitement, and funds for cancer support and research initiatives. The initiative harnesses the energy and community spirit of the basketball season by designating varsity games — like the upcoming Eagles vs. Warriors matchup — as official Cincy Shoots for a Cure nights. Participating schools and fans come together in support of the cause through donation drives, special events, and game day shirts that showcase both teams while raising funds for the fight against cancer. Support Opportunities: Game Day Shirts: Fans can purchase shirts through the link in bio — with proceeds benefiting Cincy Shoots for a Cure and its mission. https://cincyshootsforacure.org/products/tbd-at-ryle-gameday-t-shirt Donate: Contributions can be made directly on the organization’s website to support cancer-related efforts throughout the season. https://cincyshootsforacure.org/products/tbd-at-ryle-donate-for-an-entertaining-game-night The collaboration brings together basketball fans, families, and communities around a shared goal: Love Hoops. Fight Cancer. It’s a night of competitive spirit with a bigger purpose — making an impact both on and off the court....

After a tough loss to Woodward, Clark Montessori refused to let that defeat linger. The Cougars bounced back in a big way Tuesday night, securing a 56–44 win over the Withrow Tigers. The victory marks Clark’s first of the season, improving their record to 1–2, and it also represents a milestone—the program’s first-ever boys basketball win over Withrow. Senior Isaiah Douglass dominated on both ends, posting 20 points and 15 rebounds to lead the Cougars. Sophomore O’Mari Brown added another strong performance with 20 points and 7 steals. Looking ahead, Clark Montessori will hit the road to face Cincinnati Country Day at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. ...

The Clark Lady Cougars traveled to Mt. Healthy High School this past Saturday to take on the Lady Owls. Coming off a strong win the previous Wednesday, the Lady Cougars aimed to keep the momentum rolling by using their trademark pressure defense to cage the Owls early. However, turnovers and foul trouble disrupted Clark’s rhythm and limited their ability to apply consistent defensive pressure. Mt. Healthy capitalized on those mistakes, steadily building their lead and ultimately defeating the Lady Cougars, 39–30. Clark will look to bounce back this week as they return home to the Cougars Den on Wednesday, December 10th for a matchup against the North College Hill Lady Trojans....

The Clark Cougars stepped into Dennis Bettis Gymnasium this past Saturday for a non-conference showdown against the Woodward Bulldogs. In a fast-paced, back-and-forth first half, the Cougars battled with intensity and clawed their way to a six-point halftime deficit. Despite generating strong scoring opportunities, Clark struggled at the free-throw line—a cold stretch that proved costly and ultimately prevented them from taking control of the game. At the break, Woodward held a 30–24 advantage. Coming out of halftime, the Cougars made an early push, slicing the lead down to four and creating a chance to bring it to a one-possession game. However, continued free-throw woes kept Clark from closing the gap. Woodward responded with increased defensive pressure, applying full-court traps that sped Clark up and forced turnovers. The Bulldogs capitalized, converting those mistakes into easy transition points that shifted the momentum firmly in their favor. Woodward senior Bryce Lively delivered a dominant performance, finishing with 20 points and 21 rebounds, providing the spark that ultimately sealed the Bulldogs’ victory. Now 0–2, Clark Montessori looks to regroup and reset as they return home for their first home game of the season. The Cougars will square off against Withrow on Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. in the Cougars Den, where they hope to find a much-needed spark from their home crowd....

The Clark Montessori Cougars are taking a road trip to face off against the Woodward Bulldogs at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup. Clark Montessori can't be too happy about their upcoming road contest considering what happened when they opened their season away from home on Friday. They were beaten by Aiken 86-50. The Cougars were down 60-37 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there. Meanwhile, Woodward came up short against North College Hill on Monday and fell 86-76. Clark Montessori will need to focus on slowing down Julian Gaulden, one of several Woodward players who made an impact when they last played. He shot 46% from the field on his way to 13 points and four steals. Another player making a difference was Bryce Lively, who posted 12 points and six boards. ...
