CLARK VS CCD BASEBALL PREVIEW
Clark Montessori hasn't had much luck against Cincinnati Country Day recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Cougars will take on the Indians at 5:00 p.m. Clark Montessori has given up an average of 12 runs per game this season, but Wednesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
It was a proper cat-fight when Clark Montessori challenged Miami Valley Christian Academy on Tuesday. The Cougars came up short against the Lions, falling 16-2.
Jahlil Meatchem was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and one run. Noah Richer also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.
New Richmond hit Cincinnati Country Day with a seven-run seventh inning on Saturday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Indians fell just short of the Lions by a score of 9-8.
Casey Newman put in work while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over 5.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits. Newman was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.
In other batting news, Evan Robinson made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. Another player making a difference was Levi Guttman, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs.
Clark Montessori's record now sits at 1-3. As for Cincinnati Country Day, they now have a losing record of 1-2.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Wednesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Clark Montessori has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 6 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Cincinnati Country Day struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 5.3 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Clark Montessori suffered a grim 12-2 defeat to Cincinnati Country Day in their previous meeting back in May of 2025. Can the Cougars avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
