Walnut Hills Girls Golf Making History in Record-Setting Season

WALNUT HILLS GIRLS GOLF MAKING HISTORY IN RECORD-SETTING SEASON

The Walnut Hills girls golf team is putting together a season for the history books! With the OHSAA Tournament on the horizon, the Lady Eagles have established themselves as one of the Eastern Cincinnati Conference’s top programs, capturing both the ECC Preseason and Postseason Tournament championships while suffering just one conference loss this season. The historic run began in August when Walnut Hills claimed the ECC Preseason Tournament title, finishing six strokes ahead of runner-up Lebanon. The Lady Eagles carried that momentum throughout the regular season, compiling a 9-2 overall record that includes impressive program wins over Seton and Mount Notre Dame. On September 10, Walnut Hills returned to the top of the leaderboard at the ECC Postseason Tournament—and did so in dominant fashion. The Lady Eagles posted a team score of 312, finishing 18 strokes ahead of runner-up Anderson (330). The championship marked Walnut Hills' second ECC tournament title of the season and further established the Eagles as one of the conference's premier programs. And the season isn't quite finished. Due to schedule changes and rescheduling, Walnut Hills still has one ECC conference match remaining against Little Miami. The Lady Eagles enter that final match with just one conference loss and are poised to capture the ECC championship—a first in program history. A conference championship would be the perfect culmination to a regular season defined by consistency, competitive excellence and a team that has continued to raise the standard for Walnut Hills girls golf. Regardless of what happens in that final conference match, the accomplishments of this team have already made their mark. The Lady Eagles have won both ECC tournaments, posted a 9-2 overall record, secured significant wins against some of the area's top programs and positioned themselves for a historic postseason run. One match remains. One historic opportunity awaits. The OHSAA postseason begins Tuesday, September 15, giving the Lady Eagles another opportunity to add to what has already been a historic season for Walnut Hills girls golf. Go Eagles!
